We are in the early days of physically returning back to school and could not be happier to welcome the return of routine, friendships, accomplishments & fun! Every school year, for two weeks solid, my children are adorned in apples, primary colors, ruler and pencil hair bows & back to school monograms.

The balloon garland was crafted together frugally. I was out of ballon tape and used a needle and thread to string together balloons of blue, yellow & red polka dot. I weaved a precious yellow school bus garland through the balloons making it the perfect backdrop for this year’s special school memories to come.

I have to admit that I am blessed with some incredible friends who always find the best finds! One of my amazingly talented friends made my two littles some surprise back to school cookies recently and another brought a retro school desk around the same time. Thus, I knew back to school photo fun had to happen planned around fun finds from friends.

The retro desk was used in one of my best friend’s kid’s rooms as a nightstand and I think we will do the same after this photo session. Isn’t the desk so much fun? We dressed the kids up in their first day outfits and adorned the desk with the most beautiful name crayons gifted by Cray Creations Studio. The crayons are so beautiful. Pictures do not do them justice! They are thick and sturdy and arrived in the most darling brown paper packaging tied with string.

My kids could not wait to see their name crayons and of course they are coloring with them non-stop since this photo session. Brenda from FestiveFetti always makes the most gorgeous confetti. She can make your dreams come true with custom orders and crafted up the most amazing confetti mix complete with primary paper, sequins & mini school supplies. I used some of the mini school supplies on the sweet and darling pennant banner from Quincy’s Corner.

The back to school pennant from Quincy’s Corner is a printable I cut out and glued onto a dowel rod and attached yarn, tinsel & homemade pom pom onto the dowel to froo froo it up a bit. I also added rhinestones and some of the school supply confetti pieces to the pretty pennant. My daughter is all about wands and was thrilled to see a pennant to play with.

We always save treat days for the weekend and this photo session was the perfect excuse for all things sugary sweet and divine! My good friend from White Flour Company crafted up the most beautifully detailed iced cookies in shapes of backpacks, notebook paper & apples. They were a hit with the kids! I also got red iced Shipley’s Donuts and crafted up some green leaves cut from construction paper with gold foiled leaf details. The treats were placed on top of the most beautiful notebook paper lined plates from Ellie and Piper Company. They are my go to party supplies shop and always carry such high quality and fun items.

To complete the tablescape we added in a new book for the kids purchased from Amazon titled Our Class is a Family. The book is written so well and shows various exceptionalities and also includes characters of multiple backgrounds which is very important to me. My kids adored the story and loved the illustrations as well.

After we read, the kids enjoyed their treats of apple donuts and iced school supply cookies in front of a balloon garland and school buses. To wash down the treats they drank milk out of red and white striped straws from old fashioned glass milk jugs. It was the perfect back to school snack to enjoy before another fun-filled week of learning.

Wishing you and your families the best back to school yet! Please share your festive family fun at #festivefancyfrugal so that I can celebrate right along with you!
